Lancashire Hemp – Partner. This position has been incredibly insightful for me personally. Lancashire Hemp organizes the Amish hemp co-op. The sustainable, regenerative, and thoughtful manner these folks bring to their craft every day is inspiring. While we grow hemp, we also have a sister lab that beautifully innovated their own extraction facility where we isolate healthy and productive cannabinoids. We have also partnered with local exotic mushroom experts and foragers as we begin to blend cannabinoids and exotic mushroom extracts together. We hope to develop in both markets as the state of PA matures, and be a trusted source of plant medicine.

Jay Howlett

Jay Howlett has 4 decades of industry leading insurance experience and serves as a senior advisor to ( The Plug ) and our clients.

Jay started his career as a Property and Liability specialist, where he became a National Sales Leader and Manager for Liberty Mutual. He recently served as EVP for
Eastern Insurance, an agency with over 400 employees, where he worked on acquisitions, innovated and implemented a cross-sell program (530% sales increase), and
developed an industry leading contract and profit-sharing program (20% revenue increase) during his three-year tenure.

From 1989-2017, Jay joined and subsequently became owner of Chase & Lunt Insurance Agency, where he took a small main street agency and transitioned it into a
Regionally and Nationally recognized industry leader. Awards included:

• Best Places to Work.

After a successful sale to Eastern insurance and fulfillment of his 3-year transition contract, Jay recently completed his master’s degree and counseling certification. He has a passionate interest in understanding best practices in health, spirituality and well being, and continues his research on the energy flow within quantum theory, nature, consciousness, and intelligent design.

Eli Gordon serves as General Council on behalf of The Bureau & The Plug. Eli has unique exposures to both the cannabis and the insurance industry. Thanks to his brother Josh and his various operations in the industry for over a decade Eli has assisted in helping navigate the nascent cannabis regulatory system as various states come online. Additionally, Eli has developed a niche practice in M&A activity, particularly with Insurance representations & warranties.

Nick Millen

Nick grew up on a fruit and vegetable farm in MA. Growing up on the farm Nick learned how to grow a multitude of crops where his lifelong passion for the Green Industry blossomed.

Nick began his career in turf care and pest control, responsible for a wide range of chemical applications and customer service. From there he advanced his career joining Cavicchio Greenhouses. There, Nick was responsible for 100,000 square feet of greenhouse space, where he produced a full spectrum of ornamental crops using state-of-the-art technologies.

Cannabis Control Commission – Nick was one of the original members for the state of MA, officially a part of the Investigations and Enforcement Department where he conducted licensing and compliance inspections. Nick’s experience as a Commission investigator includes monitoring over 50 Commission-licensed operators of all license types across the state. He was also instrumental in expanding the list of pesticide active ingredients for which medical and adult-use cannabis is screened. Nicks experience and technical knowledge made him a valuable asset to both the Commission and licensees.

Nick and The Plug have been friends for over 25 years, and have organically learned about one another’s industry along the way. Sometimes, Nick even invited The Plug join him at 4am to work the family farm… The Plug did not last long.

Nick will assist operators facing regulatory challenges. He will also help facilitate the conversation with insurance underwriters expressing apprehension insuring any given exposure within the cannabis industry. Nick is an incredible value add to The Plug, and any operator who needs a strong guiding hand through their own regulatory challenges.
